Decorative lighting (otherwise known as lamps) is one of those areas where I feel like you can get a rich look for a little money. I’ve spent a lot of time looking for lamps for different clients and model homes over the last few years and I’m always amazed at the knock-offs that are out there. To be fair, the less expensive lamps are usually lower in quality (sometimes painfully so) but for clients on a budget who don’t care about high dollar design, they are a perfect substitution to achieve a similar look for less. And, for clients with kids or active pets, it’s almost essential to purchase things that can be easily replaced to avoid mommy melt downs when something breaks (which, lets face it, it ALWAYS does). Whether you decide to splurge or save on lamps, be sure to do SOMETHING. Lamps bring not only light to a room but help tie together a look and really bring some polish to the space. If you have a few extra dollars to spend, updating light fixtures is one of the first ways I’d recommend you do it (right behind accent pillows). Here are a few of my fav’s that I’ve come across recently! Scroll down to the bottom of the page to follow the links to any item! Happy lamping everybody!
